Wadhurst Castle wedding photography - Dave and Katrina
Wadhurst Castle wedding photography
David and Katrina’s Wadhurst Castle wedding in Sussex was an amazing day from start to finish. The couple chose to have an outdoor wedding ceremony in the beautiful walled garden within the castle grounds. As you will see from the wedding photography, it’s a lovely setting with the castle as a backdrop! Katrina mentioned that she wasn’t too fussed about having any pictures of her getting ready, so my day started with capturing a few images of the castle and guests arriving.
After a lovely sun-filled service in the walled garden and a hilarious reading from David’s two small cousins, the couple set off onto the main lawns for the wedding reception. Canapés and champagne followed as guests and the happy couple mingled and chatted. Katrina is a private chef — no pressure on the catering company then! The canapés flowed and the couple and guests loved them, washed down with some rather exquisite champagne.
After about 5 minutes, myself and the couple went for a walk around the stunning grounds to capture some images of the two of them. We were spoilt for choice, as Wadhurst Castle is an amazing place for your wedding photography. My style is to let the couple interact with each other and use this short time to soak the day up. I do not use this as a chance for my own photoshoot — just a few images shot in about 15 minutes, almost completely unposed. With the appetising smell of the wedding breakfast coming from the wedding marquee, the couple and guests were seated for some scrummy food and speeches before exiting for the first dance in the castle itself.
