I photograph weddings across Sussex – from barn celebrations in Chichester to the coast near Eastbourne. If you're planning a relaxed day at venues like Long Furlong Barn, Wadhurst Castle or Grittenham Barn, you'll find a few favourites below.

Wedding Day Timings: How to Get the Photos You Want Without Feeling Posed

Weddings go fast. One minute you’re putting on your shoes, the next it’s midnight and everyone’s dancing. After photographing 100+ weddings, I’ve seen just how quickly the day disappears — and how much smoother things run when there’s a little time set aside for the moments that matter most.
My approach is documentary-style. That means I focus on capturing the real stuff — the emotion, connection, and atmosphere of the day — without interfering or making you pose endlessly. But I also totally understand the importance of a few relaxed portraits and group photos with family. If those matter to you, I’ll make sure they’re part of your timeline — without taking over your day.

Let the Day Flow — But Have a Plan

A rough timeline helps keep things stress-free. You don’t need to plan your day to the minute, but a simple guide makes sure you’re not rushed or pulled in every direction.

I always recommend building in 10–15 minutes just for the two of you — away from guests, cameras, and noise. It’s often the only time you get alone all day, and we can use it to take a few natural portraits while you catch your breath.

Yes, I Do Group Shots

Some people think “documentary photographer” means no group photos — but that’s not the case. I’m happy to take family shots if that’s important to you. I just keep it simple, quick and calm, so we’re not pulling you away from your day for too long.

Want a tip? Assign a friend or usher who knows who’s who — they can help gather everyone quickly so we’re not shouting names into the wind!

Your Day, Your Way

Whether you want zero group shots or ten, I’ll work around what feels right for you. My job is to document the day as it actually happens — and to make sure you can look back and see all the people and moments that meant the most.
