Brighton’s packed with unique, character-filled wedding venues — and as someone who’s photographed all kinds of weddings here, I’ve found a few that work brilliantly for couples who want something natural, relaxed, and real.
Whether you’re planning a big celebration or something more intimate, here are five Brighton wedding venues I think are perfect for documentary-style wedding photography.

Brighton Bandstand

A classic. Set right on the seafront, the Bandstand is ideal for smaller ceremonies with a view. The architecture adds a bit of vintage charm, and the light down here can be incredible — especially later in the day.

If you’re after relaxed beachy vibes with great portrait potential just steps away, this is hard to beat.

Brighton Royal Pavilion

Brighton Pavilion is a truly unique wedding venue in Sussex. With its stunning architecture, rich history and central Brighton location, it’s perfect for couples looking for something a bit different.

The Grand Brighton

If you’re going for a more classic, elegant wedding but still want it to feel relaxed, The Grand delivers. It’s right on the seafront, has loads of history, and gives you that big day feel without being stuffy.

It also means you can easily pop outside for sea-view portraits, or even grab a quiet moment away from the crowd.

Pangdean Barn

Pangdean Barn is a beautiful Sussex wedding venue set at the foot of the South Downs. It’s a working farm with a restored 18th-century barn that’s full of charm and character. The setting feels relaxed and rustic, with stunning countryside views and space for both indoor and outdoor celebrations. View a Wedding shot at Pangdean Barn

Brighton Town Hall

Simple, central, and brilliant for smaller ceremonies. Brighton Town Hall is a great option if you’re planning a low-key wedding or elopement. It pairs really well with a walk around The Lanes for relaxed, street-style photos after the ceremony

It’s proof that you don’t need a grand venue to have a great day — just good people, a bit of space to breathe, and someone there to document it all.

"Mike you were great on our wedding day. You managed to capture our wedding photography in Brighton with the mood of the day and special moments that we would of otherwise missed.

You were very discreet on the day and we hardly noticed you throughout the ceremony and reception . The final photos are wonderful and we would be happy to recommend you to any of our friends"
